THE IDEA
Capitalizing on Lenovo’s NFL sponsorship for 2013-2014, we created a star studded fantasy football comedy web series in partnership with The Onion called “Tough Season.” Plenty of fans were watching, but what if Lenovo could get fans involved on a deeper level?
THE STORY
Taking inspiration from a series joke (“Computer Slap”), I created a contest in partnership with Reddit that incentivized users to to create “Computer Slap” 8-bit games. It was incredibly rewarding convincing a fortune 500 brand to step out of their comfort zone, and loved the challenge of leading the activation.
THE RESULTS
107,000 clicks driven to the contest, 25 fully playable 8-bit games, and an award for “Best User Generated Content” in Reddit’s own “Best Brands of 2014.”
